Knapp’s Wraps mobile eatery has been a familiar sight at 128 N.M. 4 in White Rock but that’s about to change.

Owners Gary and Cindy Knapp plan to leave the state and have put the business up for sale.

“It was appraised at $200,000 but we are asking $150,000,” Gary Knapp told the Los Alamos Daily Post Wednesday. “This business has grown 10 percent every year for the past five years.”

The Knapp’s Wraps restaurant vehicle is parked near Metzger’s and the Hive. It is well-known among regulars for its popular Southwestern Chile Cheese Steak burrito, which is a takeoff on the classic Philly Cheese Steak.

The couple opened Knapp’s Wraps in 2006 and expanded their burrito empire in early 2012 to include a café in the Design Center in Santa Fe.

Cindy ran the Santa Fe operation and Gary continued running the White Rock eatery.

Most of the Knapp’s memories of their years in business are pleasant ones. However, last November an out of town thief stole all of the tires off their mobile eatery in White Rock. The thief was later caught by police.

“We’ve enjoyed our time here but my wife and I really want to move to Colorado so we decided to sell the business,” Gary Knapp said.
