Kiwanis Derby Day Party Will Raise Funds to Fight Tetanus Worldwide

KIWANIS NEWS:

The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos invites the community to the second annual Kentucky Derby Party 3-5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at the Pajarito Brewpub & Grill.

This event offers an opportunity help purchase a miracle. The $50 ticket price includes the event and a $25 donation to purchase shots for 13 women and all of their children through Project Eliminate, a joint Kiwanis International and UNICEF project to wipe out maternal and neonatal tetanus worldwide.

The ticket price includes a mint julep, cocktail or beer and abundant hors d’oeuvres, a Derby hat contest, big screen TVs, 50/50 betting on the big race and a raffle for a Kimber Wallwork-Heineman original print.

The special menu at the Pajarito Brewpub & Grill is:

  • Fried chicken and pork wings served with tangy barbecue sauce
  • Fresh strawberry and spinach salad
  • Kentucky hot browns
  • Bourbon wieners
  • Dill potato salad
  • Baby back ribs
