The Kiwanis Club has announced the schedule for Thursday’s 4th of July extravaganza at Overlook Park.
2 to 9 p.m. Bouncy toys – huge selection from Ton-O-Fun. Atomic City Buses begin running from Sullivan Field to the Park and around White Rock
3 to 5 p.m. The Nomads perform provided by Russ Gordon Concerts
3 to 5 p.m. LAPD and LAFD “Thrill of the Grill” Chicken Cook-Off to benefit Los Alamos Opera Guild
5 p.m. Habenaro Skydivers with announcing by Kim Holland
5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Community Winds perform
6 p.m. Pie-Eating Contest between LAPD and LAFD (tentative)
6:45-8 p.m. Battle of the Bands provided by Russ Gordon Concerts
8 p.m. Acrobatic Flyover by Will Fox with announcing by Bruce Hudspeth
8:10 p.m. Habanero Skydiving Team with smoke and giant flag
8:30 p.m. Best Seat in the House Drawing – you get to “push the button” that starts the fireworks show
9:10 p.m. Star Spangled Banner performed by Louise Mendius
9:15 p.m. Fireworks with recorded music
9:45-11:00 p.m. Exit Park
