KIWANIS News:

It’s less than two weeks before the biggest event in Los Alamos – the Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos annual 4th of July extravaganza.

All the rain has brought out beautiful wildflowers throughout the county – no fear of drought this year!

All are welcome to Overlook Park in White Rock to share in this time of celebration together.

The Kiwanis Club has taken possession of a massive collection of pyrotechnics and getting ready for the big show. Come in the afternoon or evening to ensure you get a great location.

Of course, the fireworks display led by Pat Soran will be fantastic – that goes without saying. The huge collection of bouncy toys will be running by 4 p.m. provided by Ton-O-Fun. Atomic City Transit will be providing free transit by 4 p.m. from Los Alamos and in White Rock. Ride the bus or walk to the Park and you’ll have a quicker time back home.

There will be plenty of great food and fun for everyone. The Community Winds kicks off the live music at 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. on, the crowd will be treated to our own hometown honky-tonk hero, Sim Balkey. We’ll light up the sky at 9:15 weather permitting.

Please join us and help support your local community along the way. A $5 donation is requested at the event. Children 12 and under get it free.
