LAAC News:

The Los Alamos Arts Council will again delight the public with a fabulous display and plethora of fancy kites May 19-20 at Overlook Park.

Come out to fly, spectate, have a bite of goodies from the food vendors, take in a kite flying lesson, and have your kite doctored or colored! There will be professional kite fliers and a lot of kids running around trying to get their creations alight.

Kite building workshops are noon to 2 p.m., and noon to 5 p.m. participants can enjoy kite flying, food vendors and kite flying demonstrations. The event is free to the public.

The Arts Council, with support from Los Alamos National Bank and Los Alamos Children’s Dentistry, has produced the Kite Festival for decades. The annual event has become an iconic community-building model.

Come out and support the event and add a few bucks to the donations jar, as expenses have really risen and LAAC may not be able to offer the event next year.
