The next meeting of the Los Alamos Geological Society is 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at the Christian Church, 92 East Road.
Dr. Kirt Kempter will talk about the geology of the Abiquiu Region. He is a geologist and educator living in Santa Fe.
Kempter’s primary field study areas include the Jemez Mountains of northern New Mexico, Copper Canyon in Mexico and the Rincon de la Vieja volcano in northwestern Costa Rica.
He also leads educational tours for the Smithsonian Institution, including Iceland, Antarctica and numerous exotic sites in between.
