KIDS’ CHANCE OF NEW MEXICO News:
Kids’ Chance of New Mexico, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing scholarships to children whose parents suffered a catastrophic or work-related injury, announces the 32nd Annual Toby Wright Memorial Golf Tournament.
The tournament will take place Thursday, Sept. 10, at Sandia Golf Resort. Participants will spend a day of golf and networking, while raising funds for the scholarships.
“The Toby Wright Memorial Golf Tournament brings our community together for a meaningful day of golf while making a lasting impact on the lives of New Mexico students,” said Brock Carter, president of Kids’ Chance of New Mexico. “Every team, sponsor and donor help ensure that children affected by workplace tragedies have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals.”
The golf tournament will consist of a four-person scramble with dual shotgun starts in the morning and afternoon. It will follow a best-ball format where golfers play from the best shot of their team member and the foursome turns in only one score. Following the tournament, golfers will take part the award ceremony held in the event center.
Registration is now open, allowing golfers to secure their preferred morning or afternoon tee time before the tournament reaches capacity. Along with the scramble, they can participate in two on-course fundraising events. The first competition, “Closest to the Pin,” gives participants the opportunity to play alongside an LPGA professional golfer. The second event, “Hit Your Drive,” will provide golfers the opportunity to hit with an LPGA professional golfer. Additionally, raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the event.
The funds raised through the tournament will directly support scholarships that help students pursue higher education despite financial challenges. Kids’ Chance of New Mexico has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarship assistance to 84 New Mexico students since 2011.
