Kidnapping Suspect Patrick Fernandez Arrested Near T Or C

LAS CRUCES — The United States Marshals Service – District of New Mexico, Las Cruces Police Department, Truth or Consequences Police Department and New Mexico State Police collaborated to develop leads that ultimately led to the arrest of Patrick Fernandez, 36.

Late in the evening of Feb. 17, Truth or Consequences Police Department, New Mexico State Police and United States Marshals Service successfully arrested Fernandez, just north of Truth or Consequences when he was confronted by law enforcement.

Fernandez was identified Feb. 13 as the suspect in a kidnapping in Las Cruces. He is charged with a felony count of kidnapping, a felony count of aggravated stalking, three misdemeanor counts of aggravated battery against a household member, and two misdemeanor counts of violating an order of protection.

Fernandez was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center in the early morning of Feb. 18.

This arrest was the result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the United States Marshals Service-District of New Mexico, Las Cruces Police Department, Truth or Consequences Police Department and New Mexico State Police.

In Fiscal year 2019, the United States Marshals Service, nationwide, arrested 90,239 fugitives, for which 60,441 were state and local fugitives, arrested in partnership with numerous state, county, city and municipal partner-agencies. www.usmarshals.gov.
