October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the LAHS Girls Soccer Program will contribute to this campaign through their annual Kick for the Cure event.
The varsity and JV girls’ soccer teams will wear pink jerseys throughout the month and will distribute pledge forms to generate donations to increase breast cancer awareness and fund research and treatment. All funds raised will be donated to the charity METAvivor, which uses 100 percent of donations towards research to battle metastatic breast cancer.
The Kick for the Cure events include halftime shots on the HS goalkeeper, so shooters can test their shooting skills against one of the talented high school players. Donations will be collected during the games, half-time shooting events, and through pledges in advance of games.
The home Kick for the Cure games will be at Sullivan Field at the following times:
Girls Varsity – 4 p.m., Tuesday Oct. 23
Boys Varsity – 6 p.m., Tuesday Oct. 23
Boys JV – 4 p.m., Thursday Oct. 25
Girls JV – noon, Saturday Oct. 27
Please come out and support our LAHS soccer teams and their effort to raise funds for the charity METAvivor to help with the fight against breast cancer.
