This week, local cooperative businesses, Little Forest Playschool, Los Alamos Co+op Market, Zia Credit Union, Del Norte Credit Union, Los Alamos Public Schools Credit Union and the Los Alamos Beer Co-op started a non-perishable food drive in order to help those in need.
The “Keep It Co-op” food drive runs through Dec.19. Donations are accepted at Little Forest Playschool, the Co+op and Zia Credit Union and will be distributed by Los Alamos food bank L.A. Cares and St. Martin de Porres Food Kitchen in Espanola.

- Zia Credit Union – 1001 Central Ave., Los Alamos
- Zia Credit Union – 707 S. Riverside Dr., Española
Cooperatives all share and follow seven cooperative principles, including concern for community, a value at the heart of the holiday season. The local co-ops are practicing the sixth principle, cooperation among cooperatives through this food drive project and the “Keep It Co-op” message.
