Katya Skurikhin Struck Gold

 

Atomic Tumbler Katya Skurikhin struck gold four times at the National Association of Women’s Gymnastics Judges (NAWGJ) optional meet on March 3rd. She and Los Alamos School of Gymnastics teammate Luvina Lucero traveled to Precision Gymnastics in Albuquerque, competing against Level 7 gymnasts from both New Mexico and Texas.

Skurikhin dominated the Level 7 junior division, earning first place on vault (9.30), uneven bars (9.35), and floor exercise (9.15), as well as the top spot overall with an all-around score of 35.80. Lucero took third place on beam (8.5), and came in fifth all-around at 33.60.
