Juveniles Ignite Fire Behind Manhattan Loop

LAPD News:

Two 12-year-old Los Alamos boys started a fire in the canyon behind Manhattan Loop at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Los Alamos Firefighters doused the blaze and identified the two boys. Los Alamos Police met with the boys and referred them to the juvenile probation officer.

The boys apparently set some leaves on fire, which quickly spread to the surrounding ground cover, according to the police report.

Los Alamos Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider said the fire scorched a 30 foot by foot area of land and that no structures were affected.
