Joshua Bell Concert Sold Out – Patrons Urged To Carpool

LACA News:

Parking is expected to be a major issue when violin super-star Joshua Bell performs at 8 p.m.  Feb. 3 in the Smith Auditorium.  The concert is completely sold out so over 940 people will need to park and get into the hall during chilly weather.

Because the parking lot adjacent to the Smith Auditorium is not large enough to handle a sold-out house, the Los Alamos Concert Association strongly urges patrons to carpool.

Locals who don’t mind a little walk from Sullivan Field could also consider leaving spaces in the Smith lot for those who are less mobile and for the many attendees from off the hill who may not be aware of available parking alternatives. Parking spaces are also available in front of the Los Alamos High School gym and in the commercial lot across Diamond drive from the hall.

The Betty Ehart Center and the White Rock Senior Center will be running shuttle vans from their facilities to the Smith Auditorium and back after the concert.  Senior citizens may reserve space on those vans by contacting the centers. Van seating is limited, so early reservations are recommended.

Doors to the Smith Auditorium lobby will open at 6:45 p.m.  Doors into the hall itself will open at 7 p.m. No tickets will be available for sale at the box office and the concert will begin promptly at 8 p.m.
