CHURCH News:

Saint Job of Pochaiv Orthodox Church in Los Alamos was blessed to receive a generous gift from their sister parish of Saint Anthony of the Desert in Las Cruces.

They received the largest hand-painted icon of Christ on a panel in New Mexico. The icon is 7-feet in diameter and has been installed on the ceiling of the church.

During a short service Sunday, April 26, beginning at noon at Saint Job of Pochaiv Orthodox Church, 2270 39th St., a blessing of the icon will take place, along with any others that are brought forth.

The public is invited to view the icon, as well as present their own icons to be blessed at that time.

“Icons are central to the Orthodox faith and we hope you will join us in celebrating this great gift we have received.”
