LAHS BAND BOOSTERS News:

The Los Alamos High School Band Boosters hosted the first Jingle Bell Rock ‘N Run Sunday, Dec. 13 to raise money for their upcoming trip.

The fun run included the choice of a 5K or 1 mile run and both featured live music along the routes provided by students from the Los Alamos High School and Middle School.

Although the weather was fabulous, the 5K course was altered a bit to avoid running through snow and mud and thus it ended up slightly longer than 5 kilometers. The runners didn’t seem to mind as they enjoyed the holiday tunes provided by small ensemble groups. Connor Bailey was the overall winner of the 5K and Chelsea Challacombe was the first female to cross the line.

The Los Alamos Band Boosters would like to thank everyone who volunteered to make the event a success. We would especially like to thank Tom and Margie Stockton for timing the 5K and the businesses who sponsored prizes including Pet Pangaea, CB FOX and Fusion Multisport. We also would like to thank everyone who came out to walk, run and enjoy the music!

The race was a fun way to combine the running community with the music community and the LAHS Band Boosters are planning to make this an annual event.
