Over the last few days, the best American Kennel Club dogs and handlers showcased themselves in Orlando Fla. at the AKC Eukanuba National Invitational.
Jennifer Necker, a freshman at Los Alamos High School, competed in junior showmanship and agility trials. On Thursday, she collected a reserve best junior award in junior showmanship showing her dog, Owen.
Owen is an 8-year-old grand champion English Setter who loves the show ring. Jennifer also competed in the third annual AKC Junior Agility Challenge, running Owen and another English Setter, London, through two timed courses. Jennifer guided Owen to a pair of clean runs. London, who is still building up experience at big agility trials, ran very well and only missed one jump.
