JMTR News:

The Jemez Mountain Trail Races take place this Saturday, May 23.

These are a wonderful community event that starts and finishes at the Posse Lodge and take full advantage of our beautiful mountain running trails.

The event includes a half marathon, 50 kilometer and 50 mile race. More than 600 runners have registered, with 400 from out of town. The Perimeter Trail in particular will be quite busy in the early morning hours of Saturday.

You may see flags, signs and ribbons along many of our local trails over the next few days. Hundreds of trail runners from all over the country come to our wonderful little town to enjoy our fantastic trails and will rely on these markings to keep from getting lost and out of trouble. We understand these markers may pose a bit of an eyesore for some, and we ask your patience and tolerance for a few days. All markers will be removed from the trails quickly after race day.

This is a true community event with more than 100 volunteers involved, numerous local businesses providing sponsorship and support, and many local organizations helping get the trails in tip-top shape for months now. We thank all of you!
