The Jemez Insurance Agency has been recognized by Liberty Mutual as a Next Level Agency, a designation awarded to the top 5 percent of the company’s more than 22,000 independent agency partners across the United States.

The designation places the Los Alamos-based agency among the top-performing independent agencies in Liberty Mutual’s nationwide network.

“This award has our name on it, but it belongs to this community,” agency owner Allen McQuiston said. “Los Alamos has trusted us with its homes, cars and businesses for more than 60 years. A recognition like this is a reflection of those relationships, and we couldn’t be more grateful for them.”

Founded in 1963, just six years after the security gates came down and the town opened to the public, The Jemez Insurance Agency was the first independent insurance agency in Los Alamos. Today it is the largest independently owned and operated agency in town, with offices in Los Alamos and Santa Fe serving families and businesses across northern New Mexico.

McQuiston said the milestone is especially meaningful because of how many longtime clients the agency continues to serve.
