Los Alamos High School student Jamie Justice received the Community Youth Award from Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA) for August from LAHS Principal Brad Parker.
Justice was nominated by several LAHS staff members for being a role model and demonstrating how one can overcome obstacles with grace and a stellar attitude.
Justice received a certificate and a gift bag for leading by example.
This month the following businesses are collecting change for change, which will be used to highlight the good work of youth in the community. Those businesses include; Aspen Copies, the Animal Clinic of Los Alamos, the Children’s Clinic in Los Alamos and White Rock, Finishing Touch and Village Arts.
Also helping to assist youth in the community throughout September by collecting food are the United Church of Los Alamos and the senior centers in Los Alamos and White Rock. The award for August was sponsored by Aspen Copies and Morning Glory Bakery.
