Internationally Acclaimed Alpha Course At IHM Tonight

IHM News:

The community is invited to join the fourth session of the internationally acclaimed Alpha Course at 7 p.m. today at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 3700 Canyon Road.

The course, which has attracted participants from Catholic and other Christian denominations over the past two years, addresses questions such as:

  • Is there more to life than this?
  • How can you make the most out of life?
  • Does God exist?
  • Who is Jesus?
  • How can we have faith?

A typical Alpha evening begins with a home-cooked meal followed by a 30-minute talk. After the talk, participants gather for relaxed discussion in small groups where everyone can contribute their thoughts and ask questions. Free childcare is provided and there is no charge or commitment for the course.

The Alpha Course is being used by thousands of Catholic parishes, Christian and Orthodox churches around the world who have found it to be an effective way to answer people’s questions about the Christian faith and to spark a deepening of existing Christian faith. Participants range from those who have never stepped into a church, to those who attend occasionally, to lifelong church-goers.
