Angela Love-Storkan brings her experience as a business owner and knowledge of holistic medicine to her new position as operations manager at Infinity Wellness at 1460 Trinity Dr., Suite 8 in Los Alamos.

Before working at Infinity Wellness, Storkan owned and operated Adamina Wellness for seven years.  Born and raised in Los Alamos, she is not the only member of her family to be in the health provider field. Her father operates Storkan Chiropractic and was her inspiration for pursuing her own degree in the holistic field.

Storkan started her position at Infinity Wellness May 14 as the office manager. Her responsibilities include running operations, scheduling appointments, marketing and advertising, organizing the books and managing inventory.

Given her background in business operations, Storkan jumped at the opportunity to work for the Solano’s when the management position became available.

“I knew it would be a good fit for me to help Dr. Carmen Solano expand her business,” Storkan said.

Even though she has not been in her position very long Storkan said, “What I enjoy most is the exposure to the medical field in conjunction with the holistic. I love the clientele; all the patients are wonderful, and I have a great opportunity to learn more about the medical field and how holistic medicine can be incorporated into that.”

Functional medicine, according to the Institute for Functional Medicine, is a medical practice that focuses on “the whole person, not just a set of symptoms … practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease.”

“Dr. Carmen Solano looks for the root cause of different symptoms. She will analyze different lab work and prescribe anything from medication to nutritional supplements in order to help return the body to its natural state of healing,” Storkan said.

Infinity Wellness offers a variety of treatment methods for conditions relating, but not limited to, hormone imbalance, gut dysfunction, autoimmune diseases, weight loss and general wellness.

“Our mission here is to expand awareness by promoting the benefits that functional medicine has to offer the community and provide quality care for those struggling to get their life back. We hope to expand in the future to where we can offer thorough health care at a reasonable cost.  We already accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and hope to expand insurance options in the future,” Storkan said.

Dr. Solano is pleased for the exciting new changes Storkan will bring to the practice. “It’s a great pleasure to have her,” Solano said. “Her background is really complimentary to what we do already which is bringing functional medicine to as many people as possible.”
