Do you have a passion for wildlife and the outdoors? Do you want a job that gets you out of the office? Are you ready to find a career and not just another job? You are invited to join New Mexico Game and Fish (NMGF) virtually at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 as they visit with Lt. Andrew Armendariz from their Field Operations Division about what it takes to become a New Mexico game warden, and how to navigate the current hiring process.
This session aims to provide information on what a career as a game warden looks like and why wildlife law enforcement plays an essential role in the Department. NMGF is currently hiring game warden recruits, so this is your opportunity to learn how to apply, what the requirements are, what the training timeline looks like and to ask questions about the process.
The educational requirements to become a game warden include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field with at least 12 credit hours that pertain to the essential duties and responsibilities of this classification.
Essential duties and responsibilities of this position:
- Participate and assist in wildlife management.
- Assist in providing information on wildlife education, wildlife law enforcement, management and research.
- Assist in enforcing wildlife regulations/laws and wildlife management.
- Have contact with the general public to provide information on wildlife regulations and laws.
