History On Tap At Unquarked Dec. 1 Features Discussion Of New Los Alamos History Museum Campus

Join the Los Alamos History Museum for History on Tap for an engaging discussion about the new History Museum campus led by Museum Educator Aimee Slaughter.

Learn the inside story of how museums create new exhibits and get a sneak peek into what you’ll experience in our renovated History Museum. We will talk about all the questions you’ve been wondering about since the renovations began more than a year ago.

History on Tap, part of the On Tap series presented by the Los Alamos Creative District, is at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at UnQuarked, 145 Central Park Square. Don’t miss this great discussion.

The On Tap series happens every first and third Thursday of the month, featuring a new topic each time. The first Thursday of month rotates topics on history, nature, and art. The third Thursday of the month is always Science on Tap. History on Tap is sponsored by the Los Alamos Creative District and hosted by the Los Alamos Historical Society. This series begins each evening with an informal 10 to 15 minute lecture followed by a lively group discussion. “On Tap” is a way for people to get out and about in the community, learn something new, and meet people with similar interests. Admission is free and open to the general public.

Also, mark your calendar for December 30th—the grand re-opening of the Los Alamos History Museum! The festivities start at 10 a.m. in Fuller Lodge, with special guest speakers, surprises, and refreshments. Explore exhibits, artifacts, and activities that share stories of our history from the Ancestral Pueblo era through the Cold War as you experience the new History Museum campus for the first time. Begin with the new galleries in the Guest Cottage and continue to the Romero Cabin and the Ancestral Pueblo site on your way to the Harold Agnew Cold War Gallery in the Hans Bethe House.
