ALBUQUERQUE – Today, the Hillary for New Mexico campaign announced the hiring of state leadership staff dedicated to organizing and engaging New Mexico voters ahead of the June 7 primary about Hillary Clinton’s plans to break down barriers, and help move the country forward.
The Hillary for New Mexico campaign will be led by State Director Scott Forrester. Rich Thuma will serve as organizing director and Victor Reyes will serve as communications director for the campaign. The campaign will build a robust team of experienced community organizers who are committed to engaging the citizens of New Mexico across the state ahead of the June 7 primary. Hillary for New Mexico will open offices throughout the state in the coming weeks.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Forrester has worked on campaigns across the west for his entire career. A longtime Hillary Clinton supporter, Forrester served as political director for her 2008 New Mexico operation. From 2009-2013, he served as the executive director of the Democratic Party of New Mexico under then Chairman Javier M. Gonzales. In 2014, he served as the New Mexico House Caucus Director under Speaker Ken Martinez. He is the co-founder of Bosque Strategies, a political consulting firm, where he has worked on races large and small, from statewide efforts all the way down to school board campaigns.
Reyes has spent his entire career across the southwest serving most recently as the campaigns director for ProgressNow New Mexico and as the political and legislative director for Conservation Voters New Mexico. Thuma has worked for Hillary Clinton across the country after previously working for U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy, Sen. Ed Marke, and the Iowa Democratic Party.
