Hey, Mozart! News:
The highpoint of the 2013 Hey, Mozart! New Mexico child composer project will be a free concert presented jointly with the National Hispanic Cultural Center at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov.1 in the Albuquerque Journal Theatre.
The young composers from around the state will each perform an original melody and then an ensemble will perform an arrangement of the work by a New Mexico arranger. Karin Ebey of Los Alamos is one of the composers.
This year, they are joined by Quintessence: Choral Artists of the Southwest, members of the Albuquerque Civic Chorus, the Albuquerque Youth Symphony and the Albuquerque Concert Band.
A Silent Auction will be held in the lobby gift certificates for meals, services, luggage, golf, entertaining events, rug cleaning and gifts. Payment may be by cash, check or credit card. There will be a reception following the concert to enable the audience to meet and greet the composers, arrangers, musicians and music director.
This is a free concert, but tickets can be picked up at the NHCC box office for the general public.
