From the Office of U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As part of his ongoing effort to hold the Trump administration and Postmaster General accountable, U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) has launched an online portal for New Mexicans to share personal experiences of current or potential disruptions and delays with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).

New Mexico residents can visit www.Heinrich.Senate.Gov/Postal to submit their stories. Individuals needing assistance solving an individual mail problem also may contact Sen. Heinrich’s Albuquerque office by phone at 505.346.6601.

“The U.S. Postal Service is a vital service for New Mexicans to conduct business, get prescription medications, critical supplies, and exercise their right to vote,” Heinrich said. “I am committed to doing everything in my power to stand up against President Trump’s attempts to sabotage the operations of the U.S. Postal Service, and will hold the administration accountable. As part of that effort, I would like to hear from New Mexicans who have important information about these disruptions to the Postal Service or believe they have been impacted by delays.”

Sen. Heinrich is a cosponsor of a resolution urging increased funding in the next COVID-19 relief package to help the United States Postal Service offset losses incurred due to the pandemic. The resolution also makes clear that the USPS should not be forced to reduce its services, close post office facilities, or excessively raise rates.

Sen. Heinrich joined the entire Senate Democratic caucus Monday to demand answers and congressional testimony from Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on significant operational changes he directed that have caused serious delays for postal customers.
