The show must go on—and it did! Rotary’s Brews, Band and BBQ summer fundraiser held Saturday, June 25, brought out many of its closest friends Saturday evening despite persistent, torrential rains. With the support of sponsors and the public, ticket sales topped 150.

Many of those ticket holders came to Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op (“The Tub”) in Central Park Square even in the inclement weather. Everyone enjoyed the bountiful BBQ dinner provided by BR BBQ and Catering, and many intrepid music lovers swayed to the lively Latin beat of the MANZANARES band.

The Rotary Club of Los Alamos, especially the fundraiser’s organizers, Skip King, Jim O’Donnell, and Laura Loy, would like to thank Doug Osborn, manager of The Tub, and his hard-working staff, and generous sponsors Enterprise Bank & Trust, New Mexico Bank & Trust, attorney Phil Dabney, Los Alamos MainStreet, and Wiemann Wealth Strategies.

Special thanks go to our auctioneer, Mike Lippiatt, and to auction donors Dane Spearing, Jim and Kate O’Donnell, Skip and Linda King, Classic Air Medical, the Los Alamos Police Department, and artist Lilliannah Vigil.

Money raised from Brews, Band and BBQ will support the Rotary Club of Los Alamos’s projects to help alleviate hunger in northern New Mexico and the Navajo Nation, provide support for ongoing water projects in Guatemala and for math tutoring in South Africa, and worldwide eradication of polio. Funds also go to award multiple scholarships to local high school students for outstanding community service, to the Club’s thriving Youth Exchange program, and to middle school essay winners.
