The Harvest Moon for 2020 rises above the Sangre de Cristo Mountains this evening as it passes over North Mesa on its journey across the night sky. The Harvest Moon is the full moon that comes just after the equinox, which more often than not puts it in October. While the average occurrence of a Harvest Moon is once every three years, sometimes as much as eight years can pass between such cases. In fact, the next time a Harvest Moon in October is expected is 2028. Photo by John McHale/ladailypost.com
