The sounds of classical guitar will waft through Mesa Public Library at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, as Los Alamos native Mohit Dubey presents a live concert in the Upstairs Rotunda and Art Gallery.

Dubey is a young classical guitarist and physicist-in-the-making. A student of Roberto Capocchi at New Mexico School for the Arts and Stephen Aron at Oberlin Conservatory, Mohit has played concerts across the world – from Santa Fe to Italy to Jordan. As the son of Indian and German scientists, Mohit is excited about using music as a means of expression and storytelling across cultural differences.

Dubey’s homecoming concert at the Mesa Public Library will reprise work he presented this spring at Oberlin. He will play work by several composers from the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, including Mauro Giuliani, Domenico Scarlatti, Federico Torroba and Carlo Domeniconi.

As with all Library programs, the concert will be presented free of charge. The current exhibit in the Upstairs Art Gallery features paintings, photographs and monoprints by Santa Fe artist Maureen Howles. For more information, call 662-8253 or visit the Events calendar on the Library’s webpage:
