Los Alamos Rotary Club President James Nesmith received a club banner from Oscar Batres of the Nordeste Rotary Club of Guatemala City at Tuesday’s Rotary Club meeting at the Dixie Girl Restaurant. Oscar and his wife Johanna Batres are visiting the area this week. Oscar has for 17 years been a key link in the collaboration between the New Mexico Rotary Coalition (which includes Los Alamos) and the Guatemala City Rotary Clubs and the Uspantan Municipal Government, enabling the completion of drinking water projects, which the coalition has undertaken every year for many years.
