Guaje Pines Cemetery To Increase Burial Service Fees

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County has announced that fees for plot and burial services at Guaje Pines Cemetery will increase effective Jan. 1, 2025. This adjustment is necessary to ensure the ongoing upkeep, maintenance and sustainability of the cemetery’s grounds and facilities.

The fee update reflects rising costs for labor, maintenance and operational expenses, as well as the County’s commitment to providing enhanced services for families and visitors. The changes aim to maintain Guaje Pines Cemetery as a peaceful, respectful environment for all.

The updated fees will apply to the following services:

  • Burial plot purchases;
  • Burial services (opening and closing of graves);
  • Additional burial services and maintenance fees; and
  • Non-resident fees.

“We understand that this change may be a concern for some families, and we remain committed to providing compassionate and affordable services,” Parks Superintendent Wendy Parker said. “This fee adjustment will help us continue to serve the community with the dignity and respect our families deserve.”
