Guadalupe Fire Now 100 Percent Contained

Here is the latest update on the Guadalupe Fire that ignited Dec. 8 in the Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest:

Cause: Human.

Size: 6.3 acres, 100 percent contained.

Location: Near Forest Road (FR) 376 on the Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest.

Vegetation: Logging slash and pre-made piles.

Current Situation: The fire was reported to the Jemez Ranger District office at 12:27 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 and is contained as of Sunday, Dec 10.

Smoke/Air Quality: Smoke-sensitive individuals and people with heart or respiratory problems are encouraged to take precautionary measures. Information on air quality and protecting your health from wildfire smoke can be found online at the New Mexico Department of Health’s website at https://nmtracking.org/fire.
