Grease is the word! Since the start of year, the dance students of Los Alamos High School have been learning and perfecting the art of ballroom dance and will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, May 20 in the Dwayne Smith Auditorium. LAHS teacher Natasha Barkhudarova teaches her students the fundamentals of dance and performance and in this case, the dances were inspired by the musical Grease. The students dance everything from the convivial quickstep to the passionate rumba. There will be singing and dancing and everything in between during the show. Anyone who hasn’t seen Grease will find not only plenty of other dances, but the art of dance needs no context to be understood.
