SANTA FE House Majority Leader Sheryl Williams Stapleton (D-Albuquerque) presented Ndaba Mandela, grandson of Nelson Mandela, a gift on behalf of the House of Representatives Tuesday following Mandela’s invocation.
 
During the invocation, Mandela said, “We ask you to invoke the spirit of Nelson Mandela so it enters every single one of us as we go about our daily work. We ask you to bless them with the courage and wisdom, and to remind us all that the time is always right to do right.”
 
Leader Stapleton gifted a bracelet crafted by a Navajo silversmith to Mandela. He was visiting the New Mexico Capitol to meet with students and government leaders to discuss the education challenges in New Mexico and celebrate African American History Month.
