Graduation Piano Recital At Fuller Lodge Sunday May 22

COMMUNITY News:

Fuller Lodge concert hall will open its doors 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22 for the graduation piano recital of Phillip Ionkov, Jennie Gao and Aaron Philip.

These talented young pianists are students of Janna Warren and have been studying piano for more than 10 years. All three pianists are National Merit Scholarship finalists and graduate Los Alamos High School with Honor.

Ionkov, Gao and Philip are winners of numerous local and state competitions including State Honors and MTNA State auditions. Each has performed in many Los Alamos and Santa Fe recitals. Ionkov will attend Columbia University, Gao will go to UCLA and Philip will attend Michigan State University.

The graduates will present widely diverse programs:

Ionkov, son of Sevdelina and Latchesar Ionkov, will perform the Harpsichord Concerto #1 by I.S. Bach, 2 preludes by S. Rachmaninoff and Ballade, op.23 by F. Chopin.

Gao, daughter of Ruilian and Xiaoming Gao, will present Prelude and Fugue from WTC by I.S. Bach, Sonata, K.310 1st movement by W.A. Mozart and Rondo Capriccioso, op.14 by F. Mendelssohn.

Philip, son of Zeenu and Bobby Philip, will perform the Sonata, op.2 #1 1st movement by L. van Beethoven and Nocturne, op.9 #1 by F. Chopin.

This Graduation Piano Recital is free and open to the public.
