Governor’s Chief of Staff Addresses LANL Consortium

Wednesday April 17, Keith Gardner, Chief of Staff to Gov. Susana Martinez addressed the Consortium of Major LANL Subcontractors, an organization made up of LANL’s 33 largest subcontractors. The meeting, which occurred at Fuller Lodge was a chance for Gardner to address the management of LANL’s largest subcontractors about state policy issues that affect LANL and the subcontractors who do work at the Lab.

More than 20 members of the Consortium were in attendance. Also attending the meeting to participate in the briefing were State Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard, D-Los Alamos and Carl Trujillo, D-Santa Fe. Representatives from LANL and the Regional Coalition of LANL Communities were also present.

The Consortium of Major LANL Subcontractors is a collaboration of Los Alamos National Laboratory major subcontractors created in 2004 to strategically align and pool resources in support of economic development, educational, and civic improvement projects in the Northern New Mexico counties of Los Alamos, Mora, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, and Taos and the Pueblos located in these counties.

In the last year the Consortium has hosted group meetings with guests including Sen. Martin Heinrich, former Congresswoman Heather Wilson and others. More information about the Consortium may be found at http://www.consortium.rdcnm.org/
