SANTA FE — Gov. Susana Martinez has issued an executive order for flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset today, March 24, 2017 in honor and mourning of U.S. Air Force Capt. Kenneth Dalga.
Capt. Dalga and his crewmates Major Andrew Becker and Capt. Frederick Dellecker were killed March 14, 2017 in the line of duty. Martinez is calling for flags to be flown at half-staff in their memory until sunset Saturday, March 25, 2017.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 2017-008
FLAGS FLOWN AT HALF-STAFF IN HONOR AND MOURNING OF U. S. AIR FORCE CAPTAIN KENNETH DALGA
WHEREAS, U.S. Air Force Captain Kenneth Dalga was killed in the line of duty along with his two crewmates on March 14, 2017, when their U-28A aircraft crashed near Cannon Air Force Base;
WHEREAS, Captain Dalga was a graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky;
WHEREAS, Captain Dalga was a combat systems officer with the 318th Special Operations Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base;
WHEREAS, Captain Dalga was a native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and is survived by his wife Sarah, his son Noah, his mother Tracey and his brother Nolan;
WHEREAS, The passing of Captain Dalga and his fellow crewmembers is the latest solemn chapter of the U.S. Armed Forces’ legacy of service and sacrifice for all we, as Americans, hold dear;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Susana Martinez, Governor of the State of New Mexico, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of the State of New Mexico, do hereby order that all flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, March 24, 2017, the day of Captain Dalga’s funeral services. The hearts of the people of New Mexico go out to his family and fellow service members in memory of his service and sacrifice.
