SANTA TERESA ― Gov. Susana Martinez has announced that Corrugated Synergies International (CSI) is expanding to Santa Teresa, creating 120 new manufacturing jobs.
The company will invest more than $31 million in infrastructure, production equipment, and the renovation of their new facility. New Mexico beat out Nevada and Texas for the expansion.
“Once again, the power of New Mexico’s economic development tools are on full display,” Martinez said. “When we create a business-friendly environment we attract companies, like Corrugated Synergies International, that make an incredible difference in our communities by creating good jobs for New Mexicans.”
CSI is headquartered in Renton, Washington and is an innovative leader in sheet feeding for the corrugated cardboard industry.
“We’re proud to welcome another large-scale employer and investment to Santa Teresa,” Economic Development Secretary Matt Geisel said. “When we work together to make New Mexico more business friendly, and invest in our critical infrastructure, we’re able to help attract new businesses and help our homegrown companies thrive.”
Under Martinez, New Mexico has invested nearly $130 million in infrastructure improvements in Santa Teresa to attract businesses to the area, including roadway reconstruction and rehabilitation, flood control, water & wastewater infrastructure, roads, an airport fire station, and a port of entry visitor center, among many others.

The Governor’s visit to our corporate headquarters in the Pacific Northwest underscored the State’s commitment to welcome us.”
In November of 2017, Governor Martinez visited CSI’s corporate headquarters in Renton, Washington to discuss the benefits of expanding to New Mexico.
The New Mexico Economic Development Department will invest up to $1 million in Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) funds in the expansion.
LEDA is New Mexico’s closing fund, a tool that recruits new businesses to the state while helping those that are already here grow and thrive. Martinez fought to grow the closing fund to $56 million, up from nearly zeroed out when she took office.

Since 2011, Martinez has bolstered economic development tools, cut taxes and fees 57 times, and rolled back unnecessary regulations and red tape to create a business-friendly environment in New Mexico. Martinez also established the Catalyst Fund, a $40 million partnership with the State Investment Council that focuses on helping homegrown New Mexico technology startups grow and thrive. As a result of these tools, reforms, and investments, New Mexico continues to recruit global and national companies like Facebook, Keter Plastic, Safelite and others, while helping homegrown businesses like Valley Cold Storage, Wholesome Valley Foods, Compass Components and others grow and thrive as well.
