Glimpses Of The Past Lecture: A History Of Watrous

WATROUS In this month’s Glimpses of the Past lecture series, Park Ranger Trinidad Gallegos will talk about the unique history of Watrous, originally known as La Junta.
 
Originally a small agricultural community, Watrous later became one of the major thoroughfares for cattle in the American Southwest and a bustling stop on the Santa Fe Trail.
 
This program is 7 p.m. Thursday, July 18 at the CCHP/Santa Fe Trail Interpretive Center at 116 Bridge St. in Las Vegas, N.M.
