Girls U12 Los Alamos Football Club Lasers 07 Remain In Duke City Soccer Premiere Bracket

The Girls U12 Los Alamos Football Club Lasers 07 have been training hard for the past three weeks in the cold and snow with coach Jiri Kubicek in preparation for the start of the spring soccer season in Bernaillo. Their hard work paid off this past weekend when they won their relegation match by a resounding 4-1 over the Atletico Cheetahs. This ensures their third consecutive season playing in the top bracket for their age group, and placing them as the 6th ranked team in the state. Margaret Steinkamp gave the Lasers a strong start with a goal scored off of a corner kick from Isabel Atencio in the first few minutes of the game. Estella Remillieux scored two goals off of breakaways both assisted by long balls from Tirryn Sutherland. Midfielder Eva Martin scored her first goal of the year by poking a loose ball through the defense into the back of the net. The Lasers are gearing up for a tough spring season culminating in a performance at the Durango Shootout Tournament in mid-May in Colorado. Pictured is The Girls U12 LAFC Lasers 07 team.
