SPORTS News:

GFNY Santa Fe is the newest race in the global series of 20 cycling marathons on four continents, and only the second in the United States.

The race starts at 7 a.m. June 23 on the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe, with a post-ride awards ceremony and party at the Scottish Rite Temple.

Join riders from around the world for a 75 mile/7,100 foot elevation gain race for the GFNY North American Championship, or for a timed non-competitive ride of 61 miles/3,500 foot elevation gain. Registration is $190.

There are great prizes in age catagories from 18 to 75+. A race jersey, chip-timing and a post ride lunch from Cowgirl Hall of Fame are included with each entry.

There is an expo at the Scottish Rite Temple 2-7 p.m. Friday and 12-6 p.m. Saturday.

The top 10 percent in each age catagory qualify for a front corral start at the GFNY World Championship in New York City in May 2020.
