The public is invited to attend a talk by Ayman Nijim and Samia Assed on the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza and restoring the Gazan Village of Khuza’a, 7-9 p.m., today at the Albuquerque Mennonite Church, 1300 Girard Blvd.
Ayman Nijim, a lifelong resident of Gaza, is a professional trauma specialist. He has designed programs to provide psychosocial support for children in Gaza and to help mothers heal from the impacts of occupation, displacement, siege and the continuing Israeli assault.

Samia Assed, third-generation Palestinian-American, is a local business owner, community activist. As a board member of the Albuquerque Peace and Justice Center, she works with organizations that promote humanitarian rights.
Music will be performed by Issa Malluf , an internationally recognized specialist in Middle Eastern, Arabic and North African percussion. He has performed at such prestigious venues as the Kennedy Center and the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Donations will be accepted in any amount and will go to the Middle East Children’s Alliance to rebuild Khuza’a’s kindergarten and water system.
