Staff Report

Women attending Friday’s artist’s reception at Fuller Lodge Art Center received a red rose, compliments of Flowers By Gillian.

The rose was in keeping with the show “Deep Into That Darkness Peering,” which was inspired by a quotation from Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven.”

Emotional and physical darkness, scary feelings, ravens and Poe himself were some of the themes explored by artists participating in the show, which includes sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography and mixed media pieces.

“Deep Into That Darkness Peering” continues at Fuller Lodge Art Center through Nov. 16.
