Future Energy Resource Committee Hosts Public Meeting At Fuller Lodge May 19

COUNTY News:

The Future Energy Resource (FER) Committee appointed by the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) in February is charged to examine and recommend:

  • a definition of carbon neutrality;
  • future energy generation resources; and
  • policy as it relates to distributed generation (e.g. rooftop solar) in the County.

This coming Tuesday, May 19 at 5:30 p.m., the FER Committee invites the public to engage in informal discussions on these topics. The evening meeting will be held at Fuller Lodge.

The FER Committee’s goal is to formulate recommendations to the BPU that incorporate and balance technical considerations, costs for all customers and environmental stewardship. While the weekly Committee meetings are open to the public, Committee Chair Robert Gibson explains, “These lunch time meetings have been primarily working meetings. The Committee’s focus for Tuesday’s meeting is to hear from and engage with the public on matters relevant to the committee’s charge.”
