There will be a full moon run July 31 in the Valles Caldera National Preserve starting at the main staging area.
The run will start at sundown (8:11 p.m) with the full moon rising about 10 minutes later. The course will be out and back on dirt roads. Aid stations will be set up at 2.5 miles and 5 miles. Runners can turn around at either aid station or at any shorter distance of their choice.
Awards will be given to the first male and female completing 5 mile or 10 mile distances. All entrants are eligible for many random prizes that also will be given out.
This event is organized by the High Altitude Athletics Club, which also organizes the Jemez Mountain Trail Runs and Valles Caldera Runs. Registration is open at ultrasignup.com, and more information is available at highaltitudeathletics.org.
