View around 10:30 this morning from N.M. 4 of the Frijoles Fire that ignited overnight east of Pojoaque (about 2.8 miles northeast of Cerro Piñon in Santa Fe County). Aerial resources are on scene and crews are responding with an aggressive suppression strategy to the fire which has consumed some 10 acres. The fire is burning in the Santa Fe National Forest away from homes and other structures. Photo by Carol A. Clark/ladailypost.com

A hot spot was seen this morning by the NOAA-20 satellite of the Frijoles Fire – smoke shown here with the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the background. With the dry and hot weather, more wildfires are certainly expected. Photo by Bob Reedy
