Friends Of Shelter And Companion Animals Presents ‘Pay For A Spay’ Day Aug. 11

FOSCA News:

Did you know that Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals (FOSCA) pays for over 500 spay/neuter surgeries every year? Did you know that both the Espanola Valley Humane Society and the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society are seeing significant drops in their intake of homeless animals and that they attribute this decrease largely to spay/neuter efforts in the area?

FOSCA is very proud to play an important role in helping reduce the number of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens born in our area. We work closely with several local rescue groups and with two pueblo outreach groups – they get the animals to the vet clinic and we pay for the spay/neuter surgeries.

As the number of spay/neuter requests we get increases and veterinary surgery costs rise, we need your help so that we can continue to fund these critical efforts.

Here’s how you can help! Saturday August 11, 2018 will be “Pay for a Spay” Day! We will have a FOSCA booth at the County Arts & Crafts at Ashley Pond, so please come by and say hello and make a donation to keep our spay/neuter program going strong!

Please consider a donation of $30 to pay for a feline spay or $60 to pay for a canine spay. All “Pay for a Spay” donors will receive a decorative sticker with the name of cat or dog that we have recently paid to have spayed. For smaller donations, get a colorful pawprint sticker.

We will also have some wonderful, friendly animals from local shelters (already fixed!) available for adoption. So come by, pet a dog, visit with a volunteer, and make a tax-deductible donation!

If you cannot visit us at the Arts & Crafts Fair, but you want to help reduce the number of homeless pets in our area, you can mail a check to P. O. Box 455, or visit our website at www.lafos.org and make a donation via PayPal. All contributions are tax deductible.

Help us make “Pay for a Spay” Day! a huge success.
