LAEN News:
The Los Alamos Entrepreneurs’ Network will host a free workshop on “How to Captivate an Audience in Two Minutes” at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Hive, 134 N.M. 4 in White Rock.
BETSY BAILEY
Betsy Bailey, certified Dale Carnegie trainer in presentations, will present the workshop on how to increase listening levels and motivate others to action.
Baily’s presentation is made available by the Los Alamos Entrepreneurs’ Network (LAEN) and is open to the public on a first come basis. And it’s free.
In a survey conducted by the Wall Street Journal with 200 large company vice-presidents when asked about the effectiveness of presentations:
44 percent were bored;
40 percent were put to sleep;
13 percent responded other; and
only 3 percent were stimulated.
The bottom-line on getting ideas accepted and things done depends upon one’s ability to quickly build rapport and establish a high level of engagement with an audience. This workshop is designed to help participants increase their skills in engaging their audience.
