Free Museum Passes At The Library

Have family in town for the winter holidays? Looking for something fun to do while the kids are on break from school or you are off work from the Lab? Have you always wanted to take your visiting grandkids to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science? 

How about taking your college roomie to the Museum of International Folk Art? Now you can visit for free! Stop by either branch of the Los Alamos County Library to check out a FamilyPass – your ticket to FREE cultural fun in New Mexico.

The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with local libraries throughout New Mexico, provides a pass for free admission to 15 state museums and historic sites. You can use the FamilyPass for admission for up to six people.

The FamilyPass may be used at the following locations:

  • New Mexico History Museum/Palace of the Governors, Santa Fe
  • New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe
  • Museum of International Folk Art, Santa Fe
  • Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, Santa Fe
  • New Mexico Museum of Space History, Alamogordo
  • New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, Albuquerque
  • New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, Las Cruces
  • National Hispanic Cultural Center, Albuquerque

And the FamilyPasses also are valid for the state’s Historical Sites: Fort Sumner Historic Site/Bosque Redondo Memorial, the Coronado HistoricSite, theJemezHistoricSite, El Camino Real HistoricTrailSite, Fort Selden Historic Site, the Fort Stanton Historic Site and Lincoln Historic Site

Los Alamos County Library System has six passes. Patrons 18 and over can check out one pass per card for a week’s worth of New Mexico exploration! Stop by Mesa Public Library or the White Rock Branch Library to check out a pass or get more information on this program.
