FORT GARLAND, Colo. ― Light up the darkest day of the year with all your hopes and dreams for the Winter Solstice Lantern Festival 2-7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center in Fort Garland, Colo.
The community is invited to enjoy music and entertainment throughout the afternoon, shop the holiday bizarre and gift shop, and bring the children for stories, crafts and activities, good food and friends while decorating floating lanterns.
After sunset organizers light up the night sky with a lantern launch. The Lantern Launch is subject to weather conditions, should winds be unfavorable there will be a candle lighting instead.
Tickets are $5 per person and include a floating lantern, children 10 and under are free. Tickets are available through www.Eventbrite.com as well as in the museum gift shop.
